A little about me
In my
own words.
Being a psychology student has led me into something. Something bigger, something brighter, something worth to be grateful for. As I pursue my passion in psychology, I am learning to be those somethings not for anyone but myself. I once have doubted if I truly want this major. And turns out, after so many times I took to question myself these past few months, I can answer that I truly need this major. I used to think being a psychology student is only to help other people who struggle, but as I learn deeper, I am meant to be here for helping myself out too. I am also that person who struggle; who needs to be heard, understood, loved, and valued. I was focusing myself to understand people which I didn't realize I need to understand myself too. And from that, I have learned to not seek on others too much, but I realized that I should become home for myself too.
As I am learning, to prioritize my well-being doesn't mean I don't care about others. I still have my capability to genuinely understand people in my own way while continuously learning to understand myself too. I tend to reflect deeply on emotions, experiences, and the reasons behind everything. Sometimes it becomes both my strength and my challenge, because I care deeply and think deeply about many things. But through psychology, I learned that sensitivity is not always a weakness. It can become empathy, awareness, and understanding when used in the right way.
